DISKRESQ / WINDOWS RECOVERY
How DiskResQ recovery works
Start with a free assessment
Connect the affected drive and choose a destination on a different physical drive. Check drives reviews the available drive metadata, source identity, destination and free space. This check does not prove that your files can be recovered. The running Windows and boot drives cannot be used as recovery sources.
Unlock the job before full imaging
The planned commercial price is €9.99 for one source and one recovery image. Payment is required before a complete sector copy starts. The image stays in the chosen local job folder; it is not uploaded to DiskResQ.
Recover from the completed image
Keep source.img together with its job metadata and journal. Open the image in DiskResQ, choose Find files, select a category or exact file types, then Save selected. You can save photos first and videos later to a different folder using the same purchase. The original source is not needed for recovery from a completed image.
Continue an interrupted job
Keep the job folder and reconnect the original source if imaging paused. Resume continues the saved job after identity and safety checks. It does not require another purchase for that job. Use the same Windows user, where the job credential is stored.
Release write protection after recovery
Source imaging uses Windows read-only protection. When recovery is finished, select the original drive and choose Release write protection. This action is free and also handles protection left by older DiskResQ versions. It does not format the drive or remove a physical write-protection switch.
Storage and recovery limits
You need space for the disk image and recovered files on a separate physical drive. A different drive letter alone is not enough. Missing source sectors, overwritten contents, encryption and unsupported file layouts can prevent recovery. A file appearing in the results is not proof that its contents are complete.
