Can I recover to C: or D:?
Yes, if the volume has enough free space and is on a separate physical drive. The disk image is saved as a file, rather than overwriting the destination drive.
How much free space do I need?
A full disk image may require space equal to the source drive capacity. Extracted files need additional space. Requirements are checked before recovery starts.
What if the drive clicks or disconnects?
Clicking or repeated disconnects can indicate hardware damage. Recovery should stop when continued operation could worsen the problem. The drive may need a specialist recovery lab.
